Tuesday NHL Preview: Rangers and Flames look to even respective series

Carolina Hurricanes at New York Rangers (Game 4, CAR Leads 2-1)

After a Game 3 win at Madison Square Garden, the Rangers are looking to tie the series at two wins apiece tonight before they travel back to Raleigh for Game 5. Rod Brind’Amour is expected to start Antti Raanta in goal for the Hurricanes, while Gerard Gallant is expected to start Igor Shesterkin in goal for the Rangers. The game is slated for a 7:00 pm EST start on ESPN.

Both teams come into the game with -110 odds, with the total goals being set at 5.5 O/U. The Rangers have won their last four games on home ice, while the Hurricanes have yet to win a playoff game as the road team this postseason.

Through the first three games this series, goaltending has been tremendous on both sides of the ice. It is going to be a matter of which goalie can make that extra big save or two to give their team the victory.

Carolina’s Jordan Martinook and New York’s Barclay Goodrow are both listed as day-to-day with lower-body injuries.

Bet To Take: Ryan Strome Anytime Goalscorer (+350)

Calgary Flames at Edmonton Oilers (Game 4, EDM Leads 2-1)

The Battle of Alberta continues tonight as the Flames look to tie the series at two wins apiece before heading back home to Calgary. Jacob Markstrom is expected to start for the Flames while Mike Smith is expected to start for the Oilers. The game is scheduled for a 9:30 pm EST start on ESPN.

The Oilers come in as the slight favorites with -120 odds, with the total goals set at 6.5 O/U. Edmonton has back-to-back wins and have held their opponents to only one goal over the last two games on home ice.

The Battle of Alberta has not disappointed yet, as there has been a game with 15 combined goals along with a Game 3 that got chippy towards the end. The question will be whether or not Edmonton decides to retaliate this game for the hit Smith took from Milan Lucic.

Calgary’s Christopher Tanev and Edmonton’s Codi Ceci are both questionable for tonight’s game.

Bet To Take: Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (+200)
