Premier Lacrosse League: Betting Preview for Week 5

The PLL heads to the Land of 10,000 Lakes for week five of the season at TCO Stadium. Take a look below at the best bets during the Minnesota weekend!

ARCHERS VS REDWOODS (FRIDAY JULY 1ST/ 7:00 PM EST / ESPN+)

The 2-2 Archers and 1-3 Redwoods open up Minnesota weekend with both teams coming off close losses. The Archers continue to have some of the top offensive players in the league with Will Manny (19 points, leads PLL), Tom Schreiber (15 Points, fifth in PLL), and Tom Schreiber (Eight Assists, leads PLL). Still, amidst these offensive stars, the Archers average about 14 goals per game and have struggled to cover 24.5 goals, eclipsing that number only twice. Against a low scoring opponent in the Redwoods who average nine goals per game, take the Under 24.5 goals (-127) in this game.

ATLAS VS CHROME (FRIDAY JULY 1ST/ 9:45 PM EST / ESPN+)

Two of the top teams make up the second game of the evening as the 4-0 Chrome tangles with the 3-1 Atlas. The Chrome have eked out two close wins the prior two weeks, with a 12-11 victory against the Cannons in Baltimore and 17-14 comeback against the Waterdogs on Long Island. As for Atlas, their goalie, Hofstra alum Jack Concannon, leads the league with a 60% save percentage. Still, Chrome features two top ten goalscorers with Brendan Nichtern and Logan Wisnauskas along with Connor Farrell who leads the league with 43 ground balls. Even though they are +120 underdogs, it’s hard to bet against the Chrome moneyline with a high powered offense and comeback prowess.

CHAOS VS CANNONS (SATURDAY JULY 2ND/ 6:00 PM EST / ESPN+)

The bottom two teams in the league open day two of PLL action in Minnesota with the 1-3 Cannons taking on the 0-4 Chrome. Cannons forward Lyle Thompson loves Minnesota as last season he racked up NINE points while still with the Cannons. Even with a struggling defense, the Cannons lead with Thompson and Asher Nolting who rank in the top ten for points. The Chaos only have one player in the top 25 for points with Mac O’Keefe who has ten points. It’ll be a battle of who can outscore the other with two bad defenses, and for that reason, take the Cannons Moneyline of -115 as Thompson and Nolting can single handedly will them to a win.

WHIPSNAKES VS WATERDOGS (SATURDAY JULY 2ND/ 8:45 PM EST / ESPN+)

The 4-0 Whipsnakes face-off against the 1-3 Waterdogs in the final game of Minnesota weekend. The Whipsnakes like to live on the edge with three of their four wins by one goal while the Waterdogs dismantled the Chrome 18-9 for their first win of the season last weekend. In any Whipsnakes game, they have never scored more than 24 goals in a game while the Waterdogs have gone over 25 goals in three of their foru games. The only time they didn’t was a 12-11 loss to the Whipsnakes in week two. With a Whipsnakes goaltending tandem that leads the league with a 60% save percentage along with an offense that plays slow and dictates the tempo all game, lock the under 24.5 goals prop (-113)
