Premier Lacrosse League: Betting Preview for Week 3 of action

The PLL comes into Long Island to James M. Shuart Stadium, home of Hofstra Men’s Lacrosse, for week three of the season. With four great games ahead, there are a lot of great bets to take as the PLL plays at the biggest lacrosse specific stadium in America.

WATERDOGS VS CHROME (FRIDAY JUNE 17TH/ 6PM EST /ESPN+)

The 0-2 Waterdogs take the field against the 2-0 Chrome. The Waterdogs have been involved in two high scoring games in both of their contests, including 26 total goals in their first game and 23 in their last game. As for the Chrome, they have played in lower scoring victories winning 11-10 and 12-3 over two weeks. With the under set at 22.5 goals (-106), it can be risky to pick, but taking it can be looked at as the best bet as the Chaos run a slow offense, and coupled with their goalie Sean Sconone who is third in the PLL with save percentage, expect a low scoring contest.

ATLAS VS WHIPSNAKES (FRIDAY JUNE 17TH/ 8:45PM EST /ESPN+)

Two undefeated teams will cross paths in the second game of the evening when Atlas, led by former Hofstra goalie Jack Concannon, reigning player of the week Trevor Baptiste, and forward Jeff Teat, take the field against Matt Rambo and the Whipsnakes. With the over set at 24.5 goals, it is not a safe bet here as the Whipsnakes have never crossed 25 goals in a game while Atlas has only done the feat once. Instead, the Atlas moneyline (-162) as it is a much safer pick. Atlas have won by four or more in each of their games and have the league leader in points with Jeff Teat and league leader in save percentage Jack Concannon bolstering them. It’s a team of superstars that already are favorites for the title and near unstoppable.

ARCHERS VS CANNONS (SATURDAY JUNE 18TH/ 1PM EST /ABC)

With each team 1-1, the Archers and Cannons are looking to build some momentum in week three. The Cannons are buoyed by Jake Pulver who leads the league in caused turnovers. But, Lyle Thompson, the leading scorer for the Cannons, is questionable for the game leaving a massive hole on offense. The Archers still have their starters with the third highest point scorer in the league, Will Manny, on the field. Without Thompson upfront for the Cannons, AVOID their moneyline. With the over set at a low 22.5 goals, take the over (-121), the Archers have eclipsed 23 goals each game they’ve played this season while the Cannons only missed during week one, but still scored 21 total goals.

P.S. With the writer of this article a Hofstra grad, it should be mentioned the Cannons have the most former Hofstra players on their team as they return to James M. Shuart Stadium.

CHAOS VS REDWOODS (SATURDAY JUNE 18TH/ 4PM EST /ESPN+)

Both the Cannons and Redwoods are coming to Long Island off losses in their last game and are still looking for their first win of the season. The Redwoods have been killed by injuries with four players either questionable or unable to play. The Chaos have the league leader in two point goals, CJ Costabile, a small bright spot on an ugly start for the Chaos.  The Chaos moneyline (-113) is the safer bet as their losses have been by six goals combined while the Redwoods have lost by a combined 15 goals and have Costabile to provide some fireworks.

BEST OVERALL BET: ATLAS MONEYLINE (-162)
