The Memphis Grizzlies head to the Bay Area tonight for Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Golden State Warriors. Golden State stole Game One on the road, but a magnificent performance from Ja Morant in Game 2 evened the series at one game a piece.
Game 3 tips off from the Chase Center in San Francisco at 8:30 pm ET on ABC.
The betting angles:
Tonight’s line currently sit with Golden State being -7 as the favorites and -320 to win. Memphis is +7 and +250 to win outright.
Why Golden State can win and cover -7:
The Warriors are back home, and they have proven that their home court is defended quite well. Stephen Curry should step up tonight, as Memphis guard Dillon Brooks is suspended for Game 3, meaning his primary defender won’t be active. Draymond Green should benefit being back home as well. Expect offense at high levels, and that is Golden State’s specialty.
Why Memphis can win and cover +7:
Ja Morant has a playoff career high 47 points in Game 2, so momentum should still be on his side. Memphis is a very tough, physical team which helps them matchup quite well against Golden State. If Morant can somewhat repeat his performance and get some support from someone like Jaren Jackson Jr. or Desmond Bane, Memphis could take a lead in this series.
The Pick: Take Golden State -7:
The Dubs at home are almost unbeatable in the playoffs. Stephen Curry has been due for a big game in this year’s playoffs for a while now, and with Dillon Brooks out he might just get that break. Memphis will most likely be taking a shot to the jaw coming into the Chase Center, while Golden State will take a 2-1 series lead.
