With a full 13-game MLB Slate for Thursday, July 7 we take a look at some of the betting lines that provide some of the most value. The White Sox look to provide some reliability at -1.5 (-115) while the potential pitchers clash in California looks like a trendy underdog pick at +100.
Run Line: Chicago White Sox -1.5 (-115)
Enter Dylan Cease.
Tony La Russa’s team has underperformed so far this season, but they’ll be playing behind their ace Dylan Cease (7-3, 2.51 ERA, 125 K). The fourth-year pitcher has been the lone bright spot in the Sox starting rotation this season, and he’s won his last three starts.
Cease fanned eight in his start against the Tigers last month, while the White Sox picked up their first sweep of the season in Detroit. The Tigers are bound to get one eventually, but with Cease taking the mound in this form, the White Sox should open this four-game set with a win and cover.
It should be a good night in the Southside, take the White Sox run line (-115) here.
Moneyline: Colorado Rockies (-114)
There are a few angles here, but the biggest one is the Dallas Keuchel sighting.
One of the best hitting teams in the league will be licking their chops as they get to face Dallas Keuchel (2-6, 8.76 ERA, 30 K) for the second time in a week. The numbers aren’t pretty and the 2015 Cy Young winner has been a shell of himself this season, even being released by the White Sox at the end of May.
Keuch gave up six earned runs in his start against the Rockies last week, and despite returning to the desert, the Rockies should once again have their way with him. After being swept by the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, look for Colorado to get back in the win column on the road here. Take the Rockies moneyline (-114), and give the over a look with both starters being accident-prone this season.

Trusting two of the best arms in California here.
This one could be tricky but it feels like one of those spots to buy into a pitcher’s duel. Joe Musgrove (8-2, 2.25 ERA, 92 K) had his 8-0 start blemished, and after suffering his first two losses of the season, he should come into this one even sharper.
Logan Webb (7-3, 3.13 ERA, 86 K) will get the ball for San Francisco and he’s no slouch either. He’s on pace to set a career-high in wins, and he’s only give up more than three runs in one of his last twelve starts.
This one has all of the ingredients for a low scoring bout, and we’re going to buy-in to the pitcher’s duel. Take the under of 6.5 (+100) for this NL West bout.
Totals: Angels/Orioles o9 (-103)
The pressure of following up is real.
There is always a dramatic shift the day after Shohei Ohtani pitches due to how exceptional the reigning AL MVP has been. Tack on how hot the Orioles have been at the plate, and there’s a good chance we see some runs scored here.
While the Angels will be trotting a rookie in Chase Silseth (1-2, 5.23 ERA, 17 K) to the mound, they’ll also be bringing Ohtani and Mike Trout to the plate, along with a handful of reliable options. They’re potent enough to add fuel to fire, or even do the heavy lifting on a good night.
This feels like a good spot to kick off the PM slate, so be sure to take the over of 9 (-103) for this contest.
